Nilakshi Suryanarayan, Professor, PhD in Philology, former Head of the Department of Slavic and Finno-Ugric Studies, Delhi University, India.

She is a philologist, scholar, researcher and teacher of Russian language, literature and culture and has been teaching various courses on Russian/Soviet literature and culture for the last forty years. Apart from Russian literature, her research interests include commodification of Russian in the 21st century, study of comparative speech etiquette in Indian languages and Russian.

She has been awarded the Pushkin Medal by President Vladimir Putin in 2019 for her active contribution to the development of Russian language and literature in India.
