On October 16-31, 2024, the V Kazan International Linguistic Summit (KILS-2024) will take place, dedicated to the 220th anniversary of Kazan Federal University

The Summit will be a platform for discussing the latest trends in linguistics, the challenges posed to linguists and language educators by the events of the last year.

The organizers of the Summit are Kazan Federal University, Institute of Linguistics and Institute of Linguistic Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Russian Academy of Education (RAE). The leading partners of the Summit are the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan (AS RT), the Russian Society of Teachers of Russian Language and Literature (RSPRL), the International Association of Teachers of Russian Language and Literature (IATL), the Association of Teachers of Russian Language and Literature of the Russian Federation (ASSUL), the National Association of Teachers of English of Russia (NAPAYAZ).

 

The languages of the Summit are English, Russian and Tatar.

Two major events are being organized within the Summit.

On October 16-18, the LINGUOMETHODICAL FESTIVAL “LANGUAGE TRENDS AND METHODOLOGICAL INNOVATIONS 2024” (hereinafter referred to as the Festival) of teachers and instructors of Russian, native and foreign languages will be held within the framework of the Summit with the participation of educational leaders, leading methodological scholars, innovative teachers, various teachers’ associations and unions. The festival will include methodological workshops, seminars, workshops, seminars, master classes, a fair of methodological ideas, etc.

On October 22-24, 2024 Kazan will host the largest international event – the XVI BRICS Summit with the participation of leaders of several dozen countries. Taking into account the fact that the city and the region are intensively preparing for this event, the organizing committee of the Kazan International Linguistic Summit decided to hold this year’s Linguomethodological Festival in an ONLINE FORMAT, which, in turn, will attract even more participants from all over Russia.

The first day of the festival is organized jointly with the Russian Society of Teachers of Russian Language and Literature and the Association of Teachers of Russian Language and Literature of the Russian Federation. It is devoted to the methodological problems of studying Russian as a state language and as a native language: the use of digital educational technologies, preparation for the USE in Russian language, work with gifted children in the framework of the Olympiad movement, etc.

The second day of the festival is organized jointly with the National Association of Teachers of English of Russia (NAPAYAZ) and is devoted to the consideration of methodological problems of foreign language learning, such as the use of various digital educational content, smart technologies, SCRUM technology, chatbots, authentic video materials, gamification in foreign language lessons, creation of a methodological digital piggy bank of the teacher, etc.

The third day of the festival is organized jointly with the Center for Native Languages and Cultures of the Peoples of the Russian Federation of the Russian Academy of Education and is devoted to the consideration of methodological problems of studying native languages of the peoples of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tatarstan, such as planning a modern lesson of native, primarily Tatar language, the use of game technology, Qr-codes, TED and other innovative technologies, the development of expressive speech, speech competence of students at the lessons of native language and much more.

The size of the organizational fee for participation in the festival – 200 rubles.

Registration deadlines: from September 1 to October 13, 2024.

The International Scientific Conference “Challenges and Trends in World Linguistics” (“Challenges and Trends in World Linguistics”) will be held on October 29-31 within the framework of the Summit.

The form of the conference is hybrid.

The main directions of the conference work:

  1. Computational and corpus linguistics.
  2. Comprehension mechanisms and text complexity: an interdisciplinary approach.
  3. Paleorusistics and digital humanities.
  4. Cognitive linguistics.
  5. Clinical and neurolinguistics, psycholinguistics.
  6. Traditional linguistics and its digital transformation.
  7. Literature, art and language in a multicultural world.
  8. Russian language and methodology of its teaching.
  9. Tatar and other Turkic languages in a multicultural world.
  10. Theory and methodology of teaching foreign languages.
  11. Language diversity and multilingualism in education.

Participation in the conference is possible in two forms: offline (on the basis of Kazan Federal University), as well as in online format.

The materials (articles), corresponding to the topic of the report, prepared by the participants of the conference and uploaded by them during registration on the Summit website, will be published in the Conference Proceedings (electronic edition) and indexed in RSCI.

Based on the opinion of reviewers, the Organizing Committee reserves the right to select and edit the submitted materials and return them to the author for revision.

It is possible to participate in the conference without a report and submission of an article.

The amount of the organizational fee for participation in the conference is 800 rubles.

Registration deadlinefrom September 1 to October 20, 2024. The deadline for payment of the organizational fee is not later than October 27.

Registered participants of the conference, if they wish and have the appropriate research material, can also publish an article in the VAK journal “Philology and Culture. At the end of the Summit each registered participant will receive a certificate of participation in the Summit.
